Chapter 4: The Brightness of Memory

 

After finishing cleanup after clearing the steam tables, Walt glanced over at Janey Hale relaxing and reading a dog-eared copy of Clark Ashton Smith’s “The Dark Eidolion” and watched Bill get up and head out the door. Things went smoothly today, he was grateful that the single beer each evening that he had been limiting himself to was never bothering him. He actually felt pretty good.
